Can someone suggest a small rubberized LED flashlight?
Here's some of my requirements or preferences.
2 AA
lightweight
rubberized, at least on the tail end.

I find I use the flashlight frequently placing it in my mouth while I use both hands to work, sometimes outdoors in very cold conditions. Heavy metal lights freeze my lips and cause jaw fatigue.
I don't really need a flashlight of the apocolypse, it's doesn't have to survive a fall from outer space. I already invested in a collection of AA NiMH batteries for my bike light, so I don't want to get double duty out of these batteries.
I was really drawn to the highly recommended Fenix lights, but I didn't see any rubberized versions. I suppose I could rig up a neoprene wrap for a metal light, but still, I need something as light as possible, but not a penlight.

Thanks,

Jesse

The Streamlight 2AA is polymer light but it's nowhere as bright as he Fenix.

Why not a headlamp? There is also a NiteIze headband for the minmag that will fit the Fenix lights. Not as good as a headlamp but better then using your mouth.

If you have to use a flashlight, you could go to a bicycle store and ask for broken/popped tubes and use those to cover the light and rubberize it. that way. Note that LEDs don't like head and I would not recommend running a high power LED light full throttle in this configuration for long.

You know, I never really seriously considered a headlamp. I knew they existed, but after reading your reply, I think it might work pretty good for my purposes.
I commute year-round on my bike in Maine. In the winter, I like to spray down the chain with WD-40 after a wet, salty snow ride. Or I do any number of other adjustments etc. I do all this in a small shed where I park my bike. I could get a headlamp and just keep it in the end or if small enough, I could keep in in my large trunk rack that's on the rear of the bike.
Thanks for the reminder.

When holding in your teeth probably does not require a barn burner light - the 2AA ProPoly LED has a nice amount of light for close - I have used mine as a teeth held several times and works great - and has a nice reach for other uses -

UK ( Underwater Kinetics ) makes a 2AAA LED with the batteries side by side - not as bright as the ProPoly but smaller and lighter. I use a UK 2AAA with the bulb swapped to a red bulb ( get the 2AAA incad. and the UK Red LED drop in - the LED version won't swap ) for reading charts on an boat at night and other things such as finding switches or moving around in totally dark areas. It is on a lanyard and the mouth hold works fine.
