linux 2.6?

I haven't tried it yet. KDE 3.2b2 is a bit faster than 3.1.4 though.

wellkde is more of a gui or front end i guess i prefare fluxbox in that dept its very very fast and effective
 
I can never guess why the real geeks and student sysadmins in our Computer Systems Lab in our school use FluxxBox, but then I saw someone login and instantly get on a terminal within a few seconds. There you go. I haven't tried the new kernel, but it sounds stable...

I'm running Redhat and Mandrake. I compiled the 2.6 kernel but didn't notice any difference over 2.4, speed seems about the same.

Been talking to a buddy at IBM, there's some talk of releasing the the OS/2 desktop to to run on Linux when Warp dies. OS/2 is pretty much dead except for a handful of legacy app holdouts.

Don't know if this is going anywhere or if it can be done without a ton of work but it's an interesting idea, OS/2 desktop is old but way better then KDE or Gnome and it seems a shame to wasts the code.
