Hey, title idea for Part II, "The Lion (auto)sleeps tonight"... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crackup.gif

Raggie,

Thanks for sharing. I have the longer wait for the HA3. Your stories and excitement help carry me through until mine gets here.

I will also be waiting for Part 2, The Lion (auto(sleeps tonight.

Yea, I just used mine at work lastnight. Man this thing is so bright. You really have to see it to belive it, so small but so bright. I like the VIP but it really eats batteries, I have a bunch of 1\2 used ones lying around. The fact it is rechargable makes for totally guilt free use. Hey Mr. B, how hard are you pushing that poor little Luxeon?

Nice to see it got two people excited. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'd like to suggest a new tagline for our light-maker though:

"Mr. Bulk, You Make Good Flashlights."
(Stealing from the old Mr. Christie's tagline).

man this light is so darn easy to figure out. i have it in lock out mode now.which is very cool ya can keep it in pocket not worrying about acidental it turning on. the light is the most simple thing ever but it does every thing. this light does it all but remains simple to use.if ya dont drown in the toilet when ya pee ya can use it.its still not dark here yet

javafool, yes I have no control over the processing of the HA3's, but rest assured they will be on their way out as soon as they make their way in to me.

NITEFISH, about as hard as the poor little 1W Luxeons in the LGIs, and over the past 2-1/2 years during which I've made about 600 units under normal use none have failed yet. And the LionHeart uses a 3W, with purportedly better thermal management. Plus - the LGIs had no brightness variance capability, so even though you may run the LH on its Highest output from time to time (especially when you first get it) after the novelty wears off you should eventually settle down to a daily usage routine, and I have found that the levels in the middle are plenty bright enough, along with the long dip down into the lowest nightlight mode each evening and then again at 5 a.m. in the morning as I get ready for work without disturbing the wife.

Haesslich, that saying escapes me (hey, you a Gen X-er?).

Raggie, "if ya dont drown in the toilet when ya pee ya can use it"??? Now what in the heck does That mean? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

well i went out just now for some dark time testing and im totaly amazed this thing is so hard to belive it is only this small its so bright it out throws any thing i have.more on howe simple it is i changed the menu mode in colpete darkenss like it was second nature.its truly amazeing what charlie and the hat teams has done with this light . we will have many many happy and toatlay blown away people in the next feww weeks

Actually the final design of this light is a full-blown credit to Georges80 and Otokoyama. I innately came up with the basic idea and maybe outlined the drawing, but they filled it in with all the dazzling colors. In fact they pretty much sculpted it inaide and out to make it three dimensional. My original pencil drawing (which I have, I'll post it one of these days when I work up the nerve) was exactly that, a crudely drawn pencil sketch.

As for me, I'm just a poor toothless peasant now saddled with packing and shipping several hundred *Customized* Orders!

And of course without HAT's help I would not even Have any of these completed lights to think about sorting and shipping!

And let's not forget Jon, to whom we owe the remarkable financial hit he was willing to take to get these lights into people's hands. Hey, sounds like an Academy Award acceptance speech I'm makin' here - all right, let's get everybody up on the stage! Am I forgetting anybody?

Yes. And, back in the early-to-mid 1990s, there were a series of cookie commercials (for Mr. Christie's brand, naturally) which ended with that tagline being spoken by a kid.

Glad you like it raggie & you're welcome but dammit when am I gonna get mine? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rant.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I understand Charlie and I hope I didn't sound like I was complaining. I am an engineer and your concept to ship times are nothing short of phenomenal. It is just so much fun to read raggie's posts and share in his excitement.

I have my SBP and my VIP to light the way until later batch of LH's are complete. I even have a couple of lights from another custom builder, a list I saw that you are on too, to light the way. I just need more hands and pockets so I can enjoy them more. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
