Lithium AA preference for digital cameras?

no... I use batterystations where AA batteries are concerned, but I've found that NIMH batteries give many many more shots on a charge.

I want to use lithium, because the camera is to be stored in my car, possibly unused, for extended lengths of time.

You can get an 8-pack of Energizer L91 AA Lithium primary batteries at Wal-Mart for around $16.75 or so, not including tax. When it comes to Lithium primaries, I don't mess with "no-name" brands.

If you have a sams club membership you can get the 12 packs of energizer lithium for under $20 so they are a decent price per cell.

You're gonna have more than just battery problems leaving a DSC continually in a car if exposed to high and low temperature extremes and high humidity/moisture/condensation conditions.

Try some Sanyo Eneloops, they work great in my digital camera.
