How do you use yours?

I mainly use mine for measuring mcd (millicandela) values of LEDs and LED flashlights. To do this, I place the light source and the meter sensor exactly 12" from one another (using a ruler for accuracy sakes), set the meter for FC (foot-candles), and shine the flashlight or LED at the sensor (waving it slightly side-to-side and up-&-down to obtain the highest reading). If the meter reads "OL", then I increase its range until "OL" is no longer displayed. Finally I multiply the displayed foot-candle reading by 1,000 to convert it to mcd.

I have not tried the LUX setting, as I do not have a meter stick or the space here to take such measurements.

Measuring flashlights and LEDs...yeah that's the ticket. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I use mine using Lux@1metre. Thinking about getting an adaptor that will let me hook up the millivolt output jack to the comp, so i can log runtimes and such.
Youll find yourself digging out all those old lights you never use anymore just to compare to your latest and greatest flashlight.
