Load Test Batteries?

What is the simplest way to load test NiMh and Li-Ion batteries to see if they are defective or not. I have a couple of FM battery holders used in 3D mag conversions that are simply not getting the run time they are supposed to before the hotdriver cuts off.

Okay, somebody has got to have a simple solution like putting a resistor on the battery and checking the voltage drop.

yes that, but i dont know the math.
hook up your meter to do voltage, connect it to the battery or pack, get a 10W big fat resister, of about 10ohms, and put it in parellel with the battery or pack, watch what happens, be able to remove resister as needed.

If you have ones you know are "good" you could compare your results.

do not not ever test li-ion by shorting using an amp meter.
