Hello guys

Can anyone recommend me a flashlight, what I'm looking for is the longest thrower with the narrowest beam at a budget, what I've got in mind is a Fandyfire STL-V6 and Crelant 7G5-V2, is this a wise choice all can anyone else shed some light on this!

my advice is don't buy DX lights if you are on a budget

the most expensive lights i've ever bought were the ones that died in a week.

Fenix E40 is 17500ish lux $50 us... i dunno what else there is

Well, what's your budget? What kind of batteries? Size?

DX has some nice lights for the price, but quality is hit or miss, and the ratings can be way off. Also, don't buy cheap batteries, stick with name brand batteries and chargers.

The A60 at DX is said to be a nice thrower with a narrow beam, but the LED sits on a paper plate so there is very little heatisnking, and you'll have to modify the light a bit so the LED won't cook itself to death. The Ultrafire/"xx"Fire HD2010 is also a nice thrower with a good amount of output.

:welcome:

You are probably not looking for what you say you are. A laser pointer would for example do what you say you wanted, but, is probably not what you actually want.

For example, what are you trying to SEE?

Is there an advantage to only being able to see a little spot of light at a great distance, as opposed to say being able to see a large area at the same distance?

How far away do you want to be able to see what sized object?

:D

Welcome to CPF!

Yeah on a tight budget, the FandyFire STL V6 and the Crelant 7G5CS (The 7G5V2 has already stopped production, but some vendors may have stock) will do, but the beams for both are not "narrow" if you want narrow on the 7G5CS, you'd have to get the collimator head which will concentrate the beam into a narrow beam of light.

Best bet would be the Dereelight Nightmaster V2 or the new XML-based XSearcher.

If you got your heart set on a FandyFire STL V6, get the one modded by Sablaster at one stop throw shop. It has more than twice the performance of the stock version.

Good luck!
