Long running and dim AA light?

I'm looking for a loooooooooooong running, dim AA or 2 x AA light.

I have a Fenix L2DCE Q5 which is a great light but too bright on low.I also have a modded 2 stage Fenix L1P which is around half as bright as the L2D on low that is a tad too bright for what I want.
Multi stage would be great.

As for budget, Fenix prices or less.

The reason I would like AA is I'm standardising my lights where possible and have invested in a lot of eneloops for other things so I can always pull them if in a grid down situation.

I'm OK with basic mods (putting a 2 stage in the L1P is about my level).

Oh yeah, most definitely a Nitecorp D-10. It's all I'm carrying these days and I have several of them around the house.

Jetbeam Jet-I Pro IBS is another good option.

The minimum output is about 2 Lumen and the run time on minimum is about 45 hours on a NiMH or 50 hours on a 14500 Li-ion.

Also with a 2 Lumen minimum, the website lists run time on minimum as 50 hours, but I can't see it being that little a difference. This review: http://www.light-reviews.com/jetbeam_jet-i_pro_ex_v2/ shows 54 hours for minimum.

The fenix L1T V2.0 is 16L on low.... and has a warm/yellow tint at that setting that I find very easy on the eyes. Its not a Low-low output though, so 16L might still be too bright for what you need.

Another recommendation for the Nitecore D10. If you don't have one yet, get one! You won't regret it.

D10 might be another option. I just purchased one two minutes ago :)

D10 gives you 4-5 days worth of runtime on Eneloop. D20 around 10-12 days.

I'm a big fan of JetBeam, especially in the AA format, where the IBS interface gives you a 2 lumen low; powered by a 14500, that will net you 50+ hours.

But the current AA runtime champ is indeed the Nitecore D series. Its minimum output setting is somewhere under 1 lumen, and combined with its super-efficient circuitry, the D10 powered by just 1 AA Energizer Lithium will provide over six days of light.

I have to agree about the Gerber Infinity Ultra. When I got one, I thought they were worthless. Now, I find uses for them because of the low level.

Also, you can use old batteries that you would ordinarily throw away, and still have a dim light.

One guy did a test using a new Duracell and he gave it up somewhere after 400 hrs.

A slightly more upscale alternative to the Gerber IU is the Peak Kilimanjaro. They will probably be willing to set it up for you at ultra low power if you want that.

Both - dim and long runtime.

My 3 year old doesn't like the dark. At home we have a mains 0.6w led nightlight which is fine.
This is for holidays etc. Too bright - Like the fenix L2D CE and he gets up to play in the middle of the night!
