im restocking my aa supply. some energizers i bought on marketplace were duds :( and i've bought a few aa toys anyways, soo...

im looking for the best aa battery on the market (for the money)
as i understand it the ge/sanyo 2700 is the highest capacity and still has reasonable self discharge. these are qualities im looking for, but for a reasonable price too. i figure i'll buy from battery junction or some other cpf vendor. what are you guys recommending as the best bang for the buck. i'd like 2400 or higher with a low self discharge rate.

im familiar with the 1amp tests here http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=79302 but am looking for a balance of decent self discharge rate and price figured in. i know some will be subjectional but opinions are appreciated.

Those two things don't come in the same package.

Do you want a long life, the ability to maintain capacity over many cycles, durability and resistance to failure, the ability to maintain a low self discharge with constant use?

You are not likely to find those in a capacity much over 2000 mAh.

Therefore you might need to compromise on your expectations...

dont, instead get LSDs with the lower capacity, beats the snot out of the problems with high capacity cells.

i used to LIVE for the next increase in capacity, and would go hog wild re-buying a whole stockpile everytime the capacity went up another notch. all i did was get burned.
i had 1600s , and 1800s that were working better than the high caps, after only a few cycles and less than a year of time.

burned burned burned, and i was just burning myself, then i found the mighty LSD cells, and life has been berry berry good for me.

think big, by ignoring the numbers and getting something that works better and lasts longer. or just get the sanyo 2700s and another round of close enough.

i got a nice and easy deal on some rayovac hybrids. how do you guys think they compare to the eneloops?

aren't there any decent 2700s i can get a good deal on that will hold their newness for a few years?

I decided to try one more time with these high cap cells. I just ordered Ansmann 2850 cells, only because I hear great reviews from many sources. Newegg,Amazon, digital camera sites.

These batteries are especially designed for digital cameras.

I wonder if quality plays a factor that makes it a good battery.

Comes with a 2 year warranty too.

I think 2850 for AA nimh cells is the highest it will ever go. Definitely keep them away from the 15 minute charger as these batteries are not cheap.
