Looking for a 14500 Battery Charger

The specs on the page say it can do it. If you can't find a charger build one.. what most LiON cpfrs do. If you need a chip i can sell you one i buy them by the dozens... i can put it on a proto board for you, and can 'shop test' it before shipping (my proto board has a socket ready for a proto-boarded chip).

HI Andrew
Way over my head....is this something I can pop the battery into and take out with a green light? I've read yours and others posts about the mods you do and envy the knowledge.
If so pm me on the cost I would be interested.
Thanks Phil

...and me too, eh?

I am considering a complete charger like you describe but won't have time to build any 'til after the nanos have shipped. If you can solder you can build a charger from the chip i can supply complete directions.

Well, sadly I cannot, but someone here probably could, if you'd be kind enough to send it along with my lights. Will it charge AAA, too? Directions will have to be VERY complete... I'd need a battery or two also. Thanks.

2dim.. I will set you up.. probably once the nanos are done or at least 1/2 way through when i can take a break. The charger chips can charge any size LiON... and the charge level is set with a simple resistor .. i've used ranges from 75mA to 600mA.. i think the chip is good for 600 or 800.

I'd be interested in a DIY kit complete with parts and instructions, a la Lambda SMD pill. Whenever you made them available. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/popcorn.gif

Great! I wanted it for the Arc single AA, unless those batteries can be used elsewhere somehow. Would it also do the AAA needed for your Nano and whatever the Mini-mighty requires? BTW Andrew, you may be interested in the "Lion Heart compatible tritium vials..." thread.

I just PM'd Andrewwynn about a couple of chips for myself. Depending on the complexity, I might be able to make an extra one for you at the same time, 2dim. No promises yet, I have to see what else is involved.

i would be very interested in the LiON tritium vials.. they would be perfect for the MM.. none available, but said some are coming.. I should email him.

arc single AA not meant for LiON w/o a mod.. you will be able to use AA LiON in your arc but not w/o 'tweaking' (flat top vs button is a problem).. looks like it will short out inside the head.

imcmann.. not complex at all.. soldering 101.

Thanks! Sounds good. I've already got an r123 single cell charger from 4sevens set to 4.18v, if that's any use.

Andrew, did you not already try the AA in my Arc LS? Can a clumsy inept like moi 'tweak'? Would it be to the battery or light itself? BTW, those tritium vials will apparently be available in different colors, so each light model could have it's own perhaps...even your Nanos might have a little slit cut to accomodate one later, no?

I did use an AA LiON in your ARC.. it works great.. but i did have to tweak it.. I think i'll be sending that battery i tweaked with so you can see what i did.. it's just a piece of bent copper and a specially cut piece of tape. You maybe can copy what i did to reproduce it.

Nanos couldn't fit a tritium vial with a 'slit' like you are suggesting.. the thickness of the shell is about 1/2 the thickness of the vial.

I have some wheels in motion to source tritium vials for mm project and get them legally included in the design, just some red tape.
