Hello all. I'm not quite sure if this is an appropriate forum for my question, so apologies in advance if not. Can anyone recommend an accurate, reasonably priced Digital Multi Meter for use in monitoring rechargeable batteries. I'd love to have a Fluke but can't afford the hundred and fifty or so dollars. Maybe something in the fifty or sixty dollar range that has proved to be accurate and reliable. What are you all using?

Thank you,

Jim

If you're just taking basic voltage readings (battery levels and such) go to Harbor Freight and pickup a couple of their $5 DMMs. They work great for basic flashoholic needs.

If you need something beefier I'll defer to other members to make recommendations.

I have a couple $6 DMM. Readings are on par with my more expensive meters. If I remember right you just lose a digit. 3 digits instead of 4. Current up to 10A. Takes a 12 volt 21/23 battery I think. Best price on those is Lowes or Home Depot.

I recently bought a Craftsman #82139 DMM from Sears that I have been very pleased with so far... it was on sale for $19.

Thanks to all who've responded but I'd like to close this thread. I've since done what I should've done in the first place. Utilize the search function! I apologize for starting something new when great information is clearly available.

Jim
