Howdy all, I have been reading around on CPF for a few weeks now and have been turned into a flashaholic. I have always loved lights, and once I discovered the L.E.D. flashlight, I was reeled in. Since then I have had a fascination with these great lights. My first real l.e.d. light was the Inova X03. I saw it in Fry's electronics and wanted it, though I thought $60 for a light was a bit much, I didn't care. I have been reading reviews from the LED museum for a few months now and have bought the Arc-P AAA, Aunoc AAAA and the Fenix L1P because of it, and good ol' CPF of course.
Anyway, I love my Inova X03, however, it just doesn't throw as much as I would like. I also think that the claimed 82 lumen output is a bit high. But recently I have had my eye on this beast to be the "super" light of my lineup. The output seems superb while the price stays relatively reasonable. The run-time is not too big a concern for me, but I would like it to be at least about an hour and a half.
Now, I would want to use primaries with the light as I have not taken the rechargeable plunge yet. And it would sit unused for extended periods. That being said, I know that the light will be closer to the 800 lumen mark rather than that beastly 1000. Or would it be even lower? It kind of bothers me that the light seems to be a re-headed Mag. But if it puts out 800 lumens, I don't really care.
My primary question to you guys; Is this light even worth getting? The claims sound good, but would I really be able to light a city street with it? Using primaries? Or is there a better light altogether that I have missed?
My max budget is $220.
I want something that will blind whatever is in it's beam.
Throw is most important, but I do like some peripheral light.
Run time must be over an hour, at least, and preferably regulated.
I want to use primaries mainly, but would like to have the rechargeable option.
