looking for a quick release

i am looking for some type of small quick release mechanism i want to put my keys on it and put it on one of my beltloops, when its time to take the keys off, you pull down on the keys releasing them taking with it part of the mechanism attatched to the split ring with the keys.

I think it's NAPA auto parts stores that have a heavy duty version that I bought -- IIRC under $4 and possibly way under. Much more HD than the regular ones. I use one on a carabiner to hook my keys to a belt loop or to the FatBoy. I trust it and that says a lot about it.

thanks for the replies, but thats not what t i am looking for, i dont want something that has a buton, it releases just by the downward pressure, and then to reconnect you just push it back it.

Maybe the Amflo Coupler Key Ring is what you might be looking for.

The Amflo is brass coated but other than that the one from NAPA is identical at less than half the price.

There are no buttons to separate these. They work by pulling up on one part to let the rings come apart. The two parts just clip back together.

If this isn't what you're after, please give some more details. The only thing other than these that I can think of that comes close to your description is a set of two keyrings (each on its own piece of webbing or fabric) joined by a Fastex type buckle.

How about a simple button for keys off (one finger) and clips back on?

then you can also use your belt clip for your phone/mp3 player/etc etc

You can also get a clip for home and hang your keys up inside.
All of the components are interchangable, so you could wear your keys around your neck, or hang them from your bag, all with the same clip.

I have my phone on one and it's pretty good. I have all the parts at home, but I've never used them for organising my EDC...

How about a good old carabiner? Quick thumb release off the belt loop. Home depot key counter has one with three holes punched into the carabiner loop so you can have attached keyrings that will never fall off.
