I have carried a Peak LED Solutions 3 LED Matterhorn for the last 8 years. This light just quit working, so I'm looking for a replacement. My Budget is about $30, I was looking at maybe the Fenix E05, but nothing is really jumping out at me as a light I really want. I was looking at a Coast G10 as cheap temporary alternative, until I can find a light I like better. Does anyone have any thoughts on this light? Any problems? Does anyone know if it has a type III hard anodized coating (manufacturer does not say, so I assume not)? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

First suggestion, contact Peak to see if you present light can be fixed.

Go find a iTP EOS A3 'Upgrade' with XP-G R5 emitter. This is one of the very best $21 keychain lights IMHO. 96 lumens on high mode. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this little light.

I EDC the stainless steel version of this light, and you might be able to find one of those for around $30, if you're lucky. I like the SS version, as the coating does not wear off. I've carried mine for two years and it still looks great.

Even before calling Peak, you should clean the contacts on the flashlight to clean any oxidation. I use Deoxit which works very well but you can use 90% isopropyl alcohol and a Q-tip. If that doesn't make it light, contact Peak.

Thanks for all suggestions! I have cleaned all the contacts, I make a habit of doing so semi-regularly (that is I do it whenever I happen to remember). When I initially noticed it stopped working this last time, I cleaned all the contacts and the light briefly would then flicker faintly and rapidly, but now it does nothing. I have carried it on my keychain, in my pocket effectively everyday for 8 years. I assume that this is an electronics problem (as nothing else makes sense), is it possible that I've just hit the end of life for the light? Also, I've been using the energizer lithium AAA batteries (run at roughly 1.7 volts) is it possible this damaged the light? I never realized that using these was an issue for some lights until I began researching for a new light. Would it be worth to inquire with Peak about repair?

As far as the Coast G10 goes, I work at a retailer that sells it, and after actually messing with it a bit, ruled it out. Too large for comfort, and I was not a fan of the quality of the click switch (felt kinda cheap). Sorry, I feel like I'm kind of pulling my own topic off-topic, but I really appreciate all the input!

Quark preon p0 or dqg if you want a supersmall aaa light on your keys.
Maratac aaa is one of my favorite aaa lights, same size as the itp. All of them is current controlled, so no pwm flicker. The itp has pwm. hate visible pwm.

Trustfire Z10 looks promising. I'm so close to ordering it. 1xAAA or 1x10440 compatible, 5 modes, clicky. Under $20, includes a 10440 and charger.
