I currently carry a Fenix E01, But i am wanting to upgrade to something around the same size but with multiple brightness levels. I am considering the LD01 but i dont know what else is out there. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes deal breaker is Itp A3 EOS,3 modes, high is 80 lumens, love mine to bits and I have the EO1.

As far as using a chapstick cap on the iTP A3 (upgrade or standard) to diffuse the light, how much of a cost in the brightness on high mode is there ?

but more costly due to shipping

Oh, don't I know it! :shakehead Unfortunately, I liked...no, WANTED... the knurling of the Maratac. And I don't keychain carry my Maratac, so I didn't need the better attachment point.

If the knurling and no tail standing doesn't matter, I would go with the iTP for sheer cost savings.

Lynx_Arc had made me aware of something:

"I don't know a lot about this place
http://www.endtimesreport.com/survival_shop.html
but shipping is a little cheaper at $4.95 for the SS version makes $34.90 instead of $36.00 or $1.10 cheaper.
"

But unfortunately that company presently does not sell the non-SS version

I considered buying from there. I didn't because the extra $1.10 was worth shipping it UPS...insured for $100 and you can track it.

Do check out Liteflux LF2XT, especially Selfbuilt's review.

Is the iTP A3 waterproof and durable? Thanks.

They're not advertised as "waterproof" but I've read quite a few posts where someone forgot to take one out of their pocket and ran it through the washer and dryer with no ill effects.

Shipping my be more at Countycomm, but it's real easy to find some other little gadgets and stuff you've just got to have. As long as the total is less than $50, I think, shipping charge is the same.

My wife just pullled a SS ITP out of the washing machine about 15 minutes ago.
Went through the entire soapy, reg, warm wash and she brings it in turned on (didn't know to check first for moisture) and hands it to me.

"Take your flashlights out of your pants:sick2: next time."

Great little lights, particularly given the price / performance / quality.

I'm waiting for that to happen to me! Luckily, unless its wash day, I'll notice the next morning that its missing and find the pair of pants it still in before it gets washed.

That is really good to hear, I have been worried I was going to do that. I am sure it will happen as I put in my watch pocket which I have never used in my many many decades.

Some loss is inevitable but what you are rewarded with is a beautiful diffused area light. My Maratac AAA always has the Chapstick cap on it and my ITP is on my keychain. Both I EDC.

I read about this happening all the time. I have NEVER put one of my lights through the wash.

But I have my knife!

The LF2XT is a classy AAA light. It's feature rich if you think you might like more versatility.

If you just want a light w/ a few dif output settings, then either the ITP or Maratac will do nicely.
