Hello everyone, first time posting! :) Anyway, I'm looking for some recommendations for "tactical" light. I'm looking for something reliable that won't break the bank, under $100. A must have is push button tail switch that can remain on. Thank you in advance!

Look into a Malkoff turn-key MD2. The switch is recessed which some like but I can't use it, but it is one of the most reliable for your price and with a clicky switch (stays on). Surefire 6PL or 6PX will work too, but you need to twist the switch to keep it on.
Under $100 USD I would suggest getting a Klarus XT11 Upgraded 820 Lumen Tactical Light. It has overwhelming output and has a dual switch type of operation making it really easy to switch to strobe mode in the event that you may need to disorient an assailant. It can easily be attached to an assault rifle such as an AR/M4 via a light mount on the rails. I hope this helps!

Yeah, I like this Klarus choice. I have their XT10, and it rocks......
Now, if you want a 'tactical' light that fits in pocket for EDC use, then get a FourSevens 123*2 'Tactical'. The new ones have 'burst' mode with about 800 lumens. I have been EDC'ing variants of this light for three uears. Awesome EDC lights!

The XT11 is a fine choice. But I did replace mine with the Armytek Predator. Much more rugged and has better build quality. It's fully programmable too so you can tailor the light to your needs. There's also a secondary circuit in case the main circuit fails. Had mine for a year and still works perfect despite being thrown around.
I lost faith in Klarus' clicky switch. My Klarus XT2C's switch crumbled to pieces after a year. :(

my XT11 is still going strong switch and all. I have heard this several times from others though. Im thinking about getting the new nitecore P15.

I loved my xt11, the interface was nice and simple but I just got scared and sold it after what happened to my xt2c. Try out the predator. After buying mine, i never looked back. After a years worth of beating, it still works flawlessly. I dare say it's as tough as surefire lights.

Are you a LEO or something? That's about the only vocation where I can see someone giving their flashlight "a years worth of beating". :D If you're a LEO, do you carry a backup light of some sort?

Nope, not a LEO. I use my light to scope out buildings/properties for sale. And yes, I do carry an edc/backup.
I'm not particularly careful with my lights. I use them and toss them in my car's toolbox. Of course you can't avoid the occasional drops. I even use them as pool toys for my son since my pool lights are insufficiently dim. That's when "a year's worth of beating" comes in. Give your light to a 5 year old and see how much beating it can get :D
I'm in LE and love my xt2c. A lot of buddies carry the xt10/11. Never had an issue with the switches so far but don't doubt that 5 year olds can break anything. My 2 year old has removed/torn the rubber tail switches on 3 of my shelf lights so far. I don't know how he does it.
