I'm trying to help a friend find a strange bulb. It's for a mast-mounted foredeck light (points straight down) on a sailboat. 12V, unknown wattage, has a two-conductor bayonet-mount base (like a car tailight) and _also_ has an integrated reflector of about 2" in diameter. I believe the light assembly maker is Guest, probably from the '80s, and local boat shops have been unable to help.

Anyone know what this is? I don't have photos or anything more specific. The only deck light bulbs you can find in local shops are either ~1" reflector with a pin base, or ~4" reflector with spade connectors.

Try aviation supply stores/web sites... I believe I have seen similar reflectored bulbs in light aircraft.

Hey John,
Try this site...
http://www.mcmaster.com

Type in "bulb" or "light bulb" in the search on the left. It will start kind of an interactive product search, where you sort of select or fill in what you know about the bulb you are looking for. That might point you in the right direction....
Hope that helps...

Hello John,

Another thought is to try a marine supply store like West Marine.

I checked on line and it looks like they have a halogen spreader lamp, but the bulb is almost as much as the whole lamp assembly. Spreader Lamp

Good luck.
