Looking for CHEAP Blinking LED\'s ready to hang

I saw them once at a Electronics store. They ran off of 4AA batteries, and were a little flat package, and they were selling them for a couple of dollars.

I am NOT looking for just the LED's, or a kit, but a ready to hang product.

Something that can either be tapped or clipped to a flat stop sign.

Anyone know where I can order these? Multiple Blinking LED's would be a plus!

Thanks,

Are you talking about a warning flasher of some sort? Maybe like the flashers I have seen for walking or riding a bike? Try the sporting goods section of a department store.

Very specifically, what I am looking for is a blinking LED, preferably with a reflector, to hang on the STOP SIGNS in front of my house.

People go racing past this stop sign in a residential 30 MPH neighborhood (I live on a Cul-de-sac)at 50- 60 MPH and don't even slow down.

We have small children, pets, and adult that walk around and I am waiting for the day (knock on wood that it never happens) that a child, pet or adult gets hit by a car.

I don't want to pay a lot, because I know that a couple of days after I put them up, they will be taken down.

Does that help in the description of what I want?

The blinking LED won't help. Call the cops and ask them to put a speed trap there for a few days. The drivers will get the message.

Good idea, but listen what happened last time we complained.

A Pearland Police Officer sat by the stop sign, and did not issue any tickets, but ticketed several cars that were parked on the wrong side of the road! In other words, the cars were facing the left but parked on the right were ticketed!

Well, at your suggestion, I just called the local Police Dept.

Thanks,

I've been through the same thing with "cops" unless your dead or in the proccess of dying, or if your a donut, they won't do much for you! They will probably try to arrest you for putting the flasher on the sign. I say lay low keep a eye on your children and hope that those foolish drivers will kill themselves somewhere else, then they won't be a problem to society. When I said "cops" I meant regular traffic cops. God Bless those good men and women who go out on under-cover sting operations and risk life and limb to clean up our streets. At least some take a proactive approach to crime!

When I was a kid living in Portland, the whole community complained about a dangerious intersection that we had, cars were driving way too fast, not stopping at the stop-signs, etc - nothing ever happened until someone got killed and then they listened

I used to live on a busy street and saw cars going down it faster than I could see, and the cops wouldn't do anything

I believe that tampering with a public sign such as a traffic sign is a offense and you could get arrested for attempting to modify it

The best thing for hanging that I have seen are the NovLab Guardian lights.. They come with the belt clip but can use a variety of attachments.. Here is a link to Botach:

You can get a magnet or keychain velcro strap and hook..

The package comes with the belt, the others are optional accessories.. They also come in a variety of colors.. I use these running at night and also clips to my seat pack. You can choose steady or flashing versions..

I've seen blinking LED w/ reflectors selling for as little as $1 in a Longs drug store (chain). They were designed for bike or personal reflectors, but had a somewhat restricted angle of view, which limited their value. However, they would be ideal for your application. I think they used only 2 or 3 AA cells.
