Guys, I just got some 200w equivalent CFL's for shooting products (just for my e bay ads) and I wanted some deep reflectors as the bulbs are very long and the only thing I can find is this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0007UV9VM/?tag=cpf0b6-20 but I don't think they're deep enough.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

I also found this one which is too cool but too expensive for me as I need a few of these

LInks would be appreciated and especially if they're available on amazon as I have credit there :)

THanks

George

Never dealt with this place: http://www.drillspot.com/products/329041/Fostoria_CL-300D_Deep_Reflector_Clamp_ON_Light

I wonder if you could find some old fashioned warehouse ceiling lights; they were basically a big reflector, not sure how deep. I don't know if they make these anymore for incans; pretty much all that popped up on a quick search were LED, metal halide, sodium vapor, or other with different sockets.

Camera store _might_ have something too, but I'd bet not cheap.

Get a white umbrella and a cheap stand. The more professional your shots look the better your sales results will be.

At some point, I intend to get some studio flashes but now now. Besides, it'll be for my own stuff so it's not crucial and I don't really have the space for the stands.

Do yuo have a link to the 200w eq. CFL lamp? Just to double check, it has a medium base correct?

Yeah, prolly do...oops, not quite 200w but there ARE others more powerful.
Do you need me to find them for ya_

Yeah, they are medium base

Thanks. I was mostly curious on the brand/s. Personally, I wouldn't take those brands if they were given to me. But, that's me.

Too late now :)

I bought what I could find but because I had to buy them from amazon (had credit there and no cash) I was kinda limited and also, since I'm paying shipping, I tried to group them into as many products as possible from ONE company which also limited my choices.

They may end up working out for you.

Well, it's a bulb and they light up when you screw them in so... :)

If they last as long as they're supposed to, I'm good although I can't say I like the daylight ones, too blue :(

That's just it, those brands have a high failure rate on the larger CFLs. But, as long as you are happy with the length of time you get for them. :twothumbs

I'd just use the shallow reflectors. Restrike is going to diminish the output of a deep reflector a ton. I'd mount the bulbs sideways, especially if you use the higher watt ones with more spirals. It's easy to find a reflector for the sideways mount.
