I've have been on the hunt for the right type of lights for a month and just found your forums. I am asking here in hopes someone can point me in the right direction.

I work for a small company that is in need of lights that are bright enough to enhance existing light on signs at a trade show and be battery operated. They used to use small halogens but are moving towards the green aspect of things and would like to find something that can use rechargeable batteries.

I had ideas of using a motorcycle battery to power some 12v flood lights but rules at the show dictate it must be self enclosed as well. We need these to last at least 8-10 hours. They don't have to be blindingly bright, just bright enough that it would help brighten up the signs as the halogens did.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Would something like this work?

It is 4.72 in x 0.39 in x 0.1 in and requires 12V @ 250mA to drive it. The aluminum backing strip acts as a heatsink. A 12V, 7AH SLA (sealed lead acid) battery will power it for about 28 hours - or 3 of them for 8-10 hours. About $10 for the light strip.
