Btw another question I have is where could I purchase a reflector that would fit a large metal halide bulb? I have a 100 watt ballast and 1000 watt ballast and bulbs but would love to make a searchlight with this. Also sense 500 is cheap for what I'm looking for the condition doesn't matter as long as it's working or fixable.
anyways just let me know what you think would best suit me. I've heard xenon is going out of style due to the xenon gas being at such a high pressure in the bulb and they are very dangerous so if they break they send glass shrapnel everywhere. So I wonder if there's any xenon searchlights cheap due to this? Anyways instead of dragging this out let me explain what I'm looking for. Portability and battery life and weight and stuff like that don't really change my oppinion. Just something bright and impressive with lots of throw. I think it would be awesome to find or build a light to skim the clouds but for 500 dollars I'm a little short handed for that kind of power, right?
