I have a green laserf from Wicked Laser some time ago. The whole package is loose and flops arouind inside. I'm losing battery contact, I think.

It has a plain brass cap, 1" of black tube and another brass ring. How does it come apart? I know that it's a standard laser body but I forget the model number.

I posted the question in WL Forum and it promptly got deleted! A PM from the moderator stated that CS questions violate the forum rules.

What kind of CS does one have on a two year old laser? The question has been passed along to WL, so they said.

The WL Forum at the time of purchase would delete any negative posts which most all were about non-delivery of purchased items.

I'll have to post a picture of it here as I don't expect a answer from WL.

And while on the subject ... the problems of other fora are not a topic for CPF, so please leave them at the front door while coming in.
Thanx :)

I'm just mentioning what happened when the question was posted in a forum closer to the source vendor than this one.

Isn't this the section pertaining to Lasers? Geez, "forget it, its not important" and "mentioning other forums isn't a CPF topic"! Thanks for nothing!:thumbsdow

Exactly. This forum is about lasers, and not about other fora. Their problems shall not be ours, and CPF is not the platform to discuss this.

Bill ... please do not loose your temper. You are a long term member and know very well how CPF works.

What's the big deal about mentioning another forum? It's a WL and I posted in their forum as it was suggested above to contact them. A forum is used by many as a form of communication with users. The problem isn't with the forum, it's with WL policies.

There is no problem with mentioning a forum. The problem is airing dirty laundry of that forum on CPF.

We have links to different fora all the time on CPF, and this is perfectly ok if the linked thread contributes something. However, if the sole intent of linking or discussing other fora is to bring their problems over to CPF, then it is a no go for us.

This happens to be the case most of the time with the WL forum.

Think of it as a WL problem, not forum problem.

Besides, looking closely with a flashlight, the endcap is threaded way back and the real problem was one of the AAA Ni-MH cells developed a very high impedance. I had tried other cells which worked fine, rattle and all.

Dropped cells into a MAHA MH-9000 in which one errored for high impedance which measured 310 milliohms on a battery impedance tester. Now that I think about it, it's been rattling for some time. I may still look into it anyway.

I have a laser that I paid $90 for and it has a problem! What's not important?? Maybe not to you!

I was referring to the comment I made, I wasn't flaming your thread nor am I stating that your issue is not important

as far as $90 goes, I paid $190 for a DX laser thats DOA after 4 months it took to ship, I'm not exactly a happy camper myself
gee, sorry for causing THAT misunderstanding:ohgeez:

I feel your pain

I removed the brass threaded cap to reveal a aluminum sleeve which is glued in place. It's threaded on the ID with a piece which appears to hold the lense/laser/whatever. It had two holes, so I tried to move it. Solid as a rock, so whatever is loose is behind that! Forget that, it works anyway! :D

as far as my experiences of cheapo red lasers, the negative contact on the PCB is usually soldered to the body of the laser...a relatively weak joint if thats all thats holding the drivers to the laser diode:sick:

sometimes these joints do come off [after serving key chain duty for anywhere from 1 week to 1 year] and what you have is a rattler that works only in a certain angle. I never figured out how to solder the joints back in:candle:
