I'm not sure why but batteries in my SF G3 seem to go very quickly. Also, the light dims just a few minutes after I replace the batteries. I'm not real sure what the problem is or what to do. I have a 170lm rated drop-in LED.

Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks.

If you could let us know what batteries and which drop in led you are using it might help us help you :)

Looks like you've been here a little while now but i'll roll out the welcome mat for you just in case no one else has yet :welcome:

Thank you lightemup. I am using a dealxtreme 160 or 170 lumen drop in. I am also using Kodak Cr123s.

I have a 6P with almost the same set up but the drop in is the $12 job from dealxtreme.

The LED drop-in might not have very good heatsinking - hence the drop in output after a few minutes... Eg Mag LEDs!

Those Kodak batteries might not be able to handle the high draw of your LED.

I did wonder about that. I did have surefires in there and they did fine. I do not know much about the batteries. I just want them to work correctly. I rely heavily on my lights at work as an LEO.

Thanks for your responses. Anyone else with thoughts or suggestions I would love to hear them.

Have you considered rechargeables?

A pair of 17500's should do you just fine. AW seems to be considered the best, and Lighthound ships really quickly when they have what you need in stock.
AW 17500 rechargeable cells

The spaceris recommended with these cells.

These cells are 1.5x the length of a CR123 cell, so two of them will power your light.
