Have any of you bought any of the LR 44 batteries auctioned on ebay? They are just a few cents each, but are generic and I don't have a clue if they are any good. I suspect they are not great.

Yep, I bought 20 of those cheapo 357/LR44 cells form someone on ebay for my laser pointers. They are dirt cheap, and seem to work quite well. They are "Everich" brand in retail packages. I think I paid $0.99 each for a card of 10, and $1.79 shipping. They seem OK to me, but they don't get a lot of use in the lasers. I bought them from seller name Darwyn.

I have, over the past couple years, purchased the 100 batteries for $10 kinda deal twice from some of the cheap laser pointer folk. (LR44 size) Both times they were as advertised, have had very decent shelf life and seemed to be up to snuff. (still good after two years.) Never did any direct comparison, but my experience has shown that cheap off-brand batteries are often better than storebought stuff. I'm pretty sure that it has a lot to do with storage and age. Bulk cheap batteries turn over very quickly. Grocery store batteries sometimes have more gray hair than I do.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I buy a lot of batteries that way. The coincells from Chi-wing (cwihk ebay user?? It's on Craig's site in the white led reviews) have been very good.
And not to be too annoying, I'm planning on buying some stuff from Batterystation (CPF sponsor and nice folks!) here shortly. I suspect his turnover's rather good. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Gotta grab some 123s and cr2s..

Yours, DRS the crazed..

Thanks for the replies.
I also have some on order from Batterystation. I would prefer to deal with CPF sponsors, and members when possible. The price of the ones on order are more than fair.
I did wonder about the ebay batteries. Thanks.

Jerry
