We have a supplier who makes some webbing products for us. I am planning to ask them to make a universal pouch that will fit both my LS and 4+.
Give me some ideas as to what your ideal puch would look like.

Some of my thoughts are:-
Belt loop that allows horizontal or vertical carry
Belt clip instead of belt loop
Extra small kangaroo pouch ontop of main pouch for spare battery (will this not make the package too large?)
Made out of ballistic nylon/webbing ie. hard wearing
Design would be for belt carry, some have requested a protective pouch for pocket carry. I carry mine in my rear pocket, when I reach for it I want it to be ready for use and not have to fiddle with a pouch first.

Any other ideas?

Maybe we will come up with the ideal prototype that we could send to Peter for mass production.

I'm using a nylon pouch thats about 4" tall and 2 1/4" wide. It has a fold over flap with velcro closure and a metal belt clip. It's marked "Soft armor by Mil-Tech". It fits fairly well although it could be a bit taller. I like the idea of a space for a spare battery. I wonder how it would work to add the battery compartment to the bottom/end of the pouch, making it a bit longer but not as thick?
Keep us posted on how it develops.

THanks for the input sld.
Why would you want it taller, at 4" it already seems taller than it should be keeping in mind that the LS is only 3" long.

I'm not sure I would, just wondering which would be better. Another thought would be a side be side arrangment, adding width instead of height or thickness. I may try some of these ideas tonight and see if I find a preference.

Pocket pouch

I would love to have one to protect it while in my pocket.

I had been working on something myself. I made a holster for my LS with the thought of making more and selling them, but my machine is not very friendly for this type of work.

I really like the clip and you could still have the two way carry by using the clip for the primary vertical carry and have a sewn band for horizontal. I like a shorter hoster height (more of an open top half) with a overhand strap or flap for closure. That makes it easier to grab the light to get it out and a little easier to get it back in.

The most important feature to me is a spare compartment for a single cell because no one else has done it. My idea was horizontal under the main compartment to take up the least amount of space. Velcro closures, of course, for everything. The spare carrier would also work vertical on one side, but I liked the look and compactness of under.

I'd be great if you could pull this off.

Streak,

I always prefer a belt loop over a clip, much more secure. Although the clip is more convenient, I've never lost a holster with a loop. Can't say that about the clip. I want security since the pouch's cargo is rather expensive.

I would favor a simple pouch over a kangaroo style for the sake of esthetics and simplicity.

Finally, I always prefer a snap over velcro, which seems to wear out after extended use. And snaps are easier to replace if there is a failure.

Just my thoughts.

I have been using a CO-37 holster from Ripoffs, I must say, I really like this holster. The thing I didn't like about the Arc pouch with the LS was that I wear a thin belt, about 1" wide, It took two hands to get the LS back in the pouch. The CO-37 is more rigid, allowing me to put the 4+ back in the pouch one handed, just my 2 cents!!! Doug /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

just my opinion but im not a fan of metal clips.

why not something like the way blackhawk pouches work?

Just for the heck of it, I put my Arc-4+ in my Arc LSH pouch and I can make it fit. The latch doesn't fasten to the tightest spot, but it does close (the velcrow is only 1/4th attached). Does anyone forsee a problem carrying an Arc 4 in a LSH pouch with the velcrow only partially attached? Or should I just not carry the Arc 4 until a suitable pouch comes out dedicated to it?

BTW, speaking of pouches....I hope they design the next pouch around a button. The velcrow seems weak and not durable. I think a button snap would be a more secure way to carry the Arcs in future pouches.

(I will NOT carry in a pocket). Nor do I like the clip that comes with it.

357: See this thread about the Arc pouch. The velcro will wear out with daily use. With only that little bit of material doing the holding, I'll wager you will lose the light while sitting down someday. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mecry.gif

My Arc4 has been riding in my pouch from day-1. The Arc4 is taken out of that pouch many times per day. I've never had an issue, never lost the light, never had the flap unlatch unless I wanted it to.

Now, of course since I said all this, I can guarentee that something will happen tomorrow and my Arc4 will get lost.
