LS lens protector

Can someone tell me if the transparent film that came on my LSH-S & LSL-P lens, is supposed to stay on them, or is it just to protect them in shipping? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

oops, just saw Logicnerd411's post but still wondering should I have left the film on ? Mini-mags only advantage over ARC LS is you don't worry about this kinda stuff.[nothing you do to lens makes the beam worse] /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

erm... If it's a plastic film, then you're fine. If it's a hard acrylic, you're screvved like me.
