after going thru the rollcall post on the main page containing over 400 or so ls lights and not seeing (correct me if im wrong here) and ls3 owners i had to start an ls3 rollcall list.
here is to the ultimate LS (until the LS5 that is)

LS3 051

Proud and happy owner of LS3 044.
At least 2 other CPFers have owned this at some time /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just two people happy with it.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif

I owned LS-3 #031 for awhile . . . /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

It was an excellent "flood" beam!

Someone made me an offer that I couldn't refuse. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

The proceeds of the sale funded MANY, MANY subsequent
flashlight purchases! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I still wish that I had kept it sometimes. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif

LS3-025 settling into its new home nicely here. While it isn`t the absolute best flashlight I have in terms of output, it is still very bright and very useful. As a collector my collection wouldn`t be complete without it, but it does get used too. Nice wide spill that`s great for the indoors. The beam colour is actually quite close to incandescent too, more yellow than green and quite pleasent to my eyes.

It is hard to believe that so few LS3 owners have come forward to proclaim their undying love for the LS3. To me

This is a truly bright and very useful light. True it was expensive by arclight standards.
Hopefully the LS5 will pick up where the LS3 left off.

jallis, seems your LS3 has been on duty /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I love mine, probably in a different and perverted way, because I'm afraid to scratch it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif
The Arc4 will be my EDC, hope it saves my life someday.

Will a DIY LS3 count as well ?

Owner of a DIY LS3 (+100ma too) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If it looks bigger than the other LSs, I'd say YES /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
What kind of parts do you put together? I have an extra 2x123 pack to start with..

Actually the only difference (besides the print LS vs LS3) is the 2x123 TSP vs 123TSP and 5W vs 1W emitter. If you have the 2x123 TSP you can just swap out the 1W emitter and put a 5Watter in place and voila - instant DIY LS3. While you´re at it you can also put some other SMD resistor next to the standard 0.15 Ohm one and dial up the current a little.

Thank you Klaus. The only 'mods' I have managed so far is nothing more than cleaning threads and checking that the lights are happy enough to shine /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I have just recently gained a veeery vague idea of how these lights actually work.
Someday, I wish to work a lathe and build my little light from scratch. Someday, yes someday..

And putting in a Fraen and spacing out the LED a little is nice as well
