I ordered a couple of Vantage VT-02 and received them less than a week ago, one for me and one for my friend. My first impressions of the light was the fine quality of the body. All the cuts, knurling, threads and coating are very nice. The output of the XR-E Q3 5A was very pleasant. There were some things keeping it from being perfect. The clip doesn't match the light and the lens seems to lack AR-coating.

After some days playing with the light, it suddenly turned off (it seemed). I thought there was a low voltage cut mechanism playing the trick so I replaced the batteries with fresh NiMH cells off the charger. I pressed the button but no light. The LED was just glowing. I cleaned all contact points but no improvement. It appear the light engine has reduced the overall output. There are "low-med-high" but they all are extremely low. Then I unscrewed the tail-cap and measured the current. Every output levels pulled 0.2A.

What else should I do besides sending it back?

I have taken some pictures of the Vantage to show how it looks.
