Is there a reason why lumintop flashlights aren't very popular? I've noticed it's not mentioned much here and I really don't understand why that's the case. They seem pretty decent based on the reviews. Their flashlight generally have good regulation and efficiency. Their prices are similar to others. Their build is pretty much the same. So why does it get very little attention?

I got 3 lumintop worms. All of them are exellent build, Way less than 1/4 twist to completly lock out the light. Opened one of them up yesterday for a led swap and supricingly the driver and the pcb with the battery contact was potted together into one pice. Dident expect that out of a cheap light. They are waaaaay better than I expected.

Well, my Lumintop TD15 has been nothing but problems.
Problems with the tailcap switch, problems with the head and its ability to change modes.
Lens cracked after dropping the light for a 2nd time from waist level, onto concrete. The silver steel retaining ring which holds the lens in place will not come off, even with heat and vice grips. Therefore the lens cannot be replaced.

Also, do not want to spend the time, money, materials to send this back to the dealer so they can then send the light back to China (not to mention I already had a heck of a time just acquiring the replacement tailcap, for which I had to spend additional money and wait weeks).
Also, do not want to send it to China myself.

I'm just one reason.
The light is a money-pit. I figured I'd cut my losses at $100 for this light. Which was originally supposed to be around $65 during the time that I ordered it when it was new and offered at the 30% discount or whatever.
Oh, and the batteries deplete at a very fast rate, after which the light quickly jumps into limp mode. Just a terrible hunk of trash, if you ask me.

That answer your question?

I ordered a Lumintop TD15 when it came out just as Herosemblem did. That light had problems changing modes so I had to return it to the dealer. The replacement light that I received seemed to be from a later batch since it had o-rings of a different color and the head did not wobble in the un-tightened mode. I do not have one complaint with the replacement light. In fact, I think it's pretty fantastic especially since I got it at the promotional price. I have not dropped or abused the light so I can't really attest to durability. At full price, I think there are probably better lights, but that's just my subjective opinion.
