With a metal file I've filed down a luxeon i star just enough so I can press it into the Minimag head. The original reflector I drilled out to accommodate the led lense and black plastic surround. I'm trying this on a 2AA version with external battery pack but will either go microdriver or resistor drive on 3AA version.
I'm guessing I could get an optic in there but it would have to be around size of the old reflector.
In the minimag is the case part of the electrical circuit ? The led I have I understand to be electrically isolated from the star but I'm not sure this will be the case for Seoul and Cree leds.
