Couldn't sell this light as a 3D, so decided to try the HSJB (hacksaw + JB weld) method of doing a cut down described by StefanFS here. Worked pretty well - the smaller form factor feels much nicer in my hand than the bulky 3D body. It's not a perfect job but I am satisfied with it.

Tough part was dremmeling the switch hole. I wanted to use the stock switch cover, so I had to carefully feather the hole edges on the inside and outside of the body to allow for proper fit of the stock rubber switch cover. The dremmel slipped a few times and created a few "mistakes" in the finish, but overall, not bad for a first attempt.

Runs on either 2 x IMR 26500 or 3 x IMR 16340. I made battery sleeves for both types out of PVC pipe available at Lowes (or Home Depot).

Still thinking of whether to sell or keep it.

Looks good, but I'd never sell that. He who dies with the most torches, WINS! Makes me think that my 4D really needs an upgrade.
