OK guys, I've racked my brain over all the posts and want to mod a M*glite 2C with the KPR 112 and 3X123. The question: Do the 123 batteries need a sleeve or do they fit into the existing body of the m*glite? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif

Hi Herk,

Yes you will need a sleeve, either a PVC pipe or rubber hose from the auto parts store will work well.

Later Sway,

Sway,

Could you be more specific as to the size of the pvc pipe or hose. Will this fit snugly in the 2c maglite?

Thanks

I found in Home Depot plastic pipe. I brought a 123 batt with me and sized it up that way. the pipe will be a smaller od than the mag id.
I don't even wrap tape around the pvc. It fits so well.

Just wanted to thank ginseng and the other folks giving info on this mod. I just did this to a 2c mag and was so excited with the results that Im ready to try different mod.
I think Im hooked.
CPF and its members ROCK!

On a similar note...I received my 1 D cell mag lite yesterday. I used a 3AA to D battery adaptor inside. Even using the stock Mag bulb, I can aim this thing down to a pencil of light that I can shine into my neighbor's living room 300 ft away! Can't wait to finish my Luxeon mod to it.

Thanks, Ginseng /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif Absolutely super info! With the picture and advice it took only a bit of shopping around and some time (5 minutes) in my Father-in-law's shop and wham, done. Very impressive. So impressive, in fact, that my Father-in-law asked for the specs and is intending to go about his own mod. Thanks again, great mod.

You are most welcome. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
