I just bought a brand new Surefire M6 with the crenelated bezel off ebay. What should I expect. I finally did it and shelled out the $$$. The biggest surefire I've had before this was an M3T, and for its size it didn't find it to be overly bright at close range, I think this is because of the turbohead, it just didn't have a good flood for up close. Is the M6 the same way? Am I going to be suprised at how bright it is in comparison to all my other surefires?

I was blown away from the output of the 10X I had for a week. I don't think you will be disappointed with the M6, especially since it has tighter focused beam than the 10X, which wasn't the spotlight that I thought it would be. I sold it because of that. I only bought it because I couldn't afford the $20/hr battery cost of the M6 HOLA.

Here it is with some other big boys.

Ive been wanting a M6 forever, but I just cant justify the cost. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Saw 3 of them in the movie Day after Tomorow. Dont know where they got them, these kids just all of a sudden had them, like they were part of a emergancy kit. lol

Looked nice on TV though /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I cant remember, how many lumens is the M6, with its 2 different bulbs?

Doesn’t that just crack you up how these lights just appear. In the movie house of the dead there was a MaxaBeam just laying on the stage at a rave.
Anyhow the MN20 is 250l and the MN21 is 500l.

lol yeah jtice that was hillarious, i looked like such a freaking tool telling my date how these kids woulndt happen to find 400 dollar flashlights in a new york public library. she thinks me being a bit of a geek is cute though so it worked out.

[/ QUOTE ]Maxabeams show up all over the place...someone's doing a good job of placing them in movies. In the movie Three Kings, there were several of them dancing around in a tent as "Disco lights". Expensive Disco lights.

You will be surprised at how small and solid the light is. It's truly the daddy of SFs, at least until the fabled Beast is unleashed (i hope).

I have to echo kakster's comments on how small it is. It is always smaller than people think and with all the machining and knurling it is just one bad a$$ looking light!

liteitup,

More light, less money, fewer batteries, 'Nuff said!

BUT, the M6 is REALLY cool!!! Surefire does make great lights!!

Great shots. M6 appears to put out allot of light for a "small" package. I never realized the SF M6 was a $400 light. Out of curiousity, what do those maxabeams cost?

Thanks

Curtis

The M6 is also whiter and stays that way longer than most incandescent. Here is a link to a thread with the color temps of some different lights.

Look here for a Maxa Beam
