You Guys have been driving me crazy
with your talk about adjusting the
Madmax, saying to turn it clockwise
to brighten and conterCW to dim.
I 've been adjusting for a week & a
half and just yesterday I came to
the conclution that my MM seemed to
be acting the opposite of this. It
is really hard to adjust if this
seems to be happening! I said to
myself "this can't be?". Then it
occurred to me that it must be some
differnce in perception.

The way I was adjusting the pot wheel
was by thinking of it from the top.
Therefore if I wanted to reduce output
I turned the wheel counterclockwise.
This was not working, so I said how
could other people be looking at this
situation and end up turning the wheel
the other direction? Then I thought of
the picture on Date2zip's site showing
an exacto knife pushing the wheel around.
If you push the wheel to the right (CW),
viewing from the top the wheel actually
goes counterclockwise & vise versa.
Am I stupid or do I just look at things
from a different position???
Well I thought that maybe others of you
have been going at this from this same
viewpoint.

So this is how my Madmax seems to adjust:
1/3rd of the adjustment is off or too little
current to light the led. This is from 10:00
to about 2:00. 9:00 seems to be min. current
and about 3:00 to 4:00 is max current. This
adjustment is done by positioning the pot wheel
directly toward you (if the MM module is an-
other clockface this would be the 6:00 position.
I marked the flat side of my pot wheel with
a permanent magic marker, this made it much
easier to see and adjust. All clock postions
are in relation to middle of flat spot.

Well I hope I got this right and I hope others
seem to act as mine does.

Rebus, when you looked at pot first time, was the adjustment at the brightest position 3:00-4:00?

Yes it was. So when I turned it, what
I thought was counterclockwise, it went
dark.

Date2zip, you seem to be showing much
less travel than mine seems to exibit.
We both show about 9:00 to be min. but
you show about 7:00 to be max whereas mine
adjust all the way to 4:00 for max.
Also what you say is clockwise to me
seems to be counterclockwise.

Rebus,

You are probably correct. I'm only showing the maximum trim pot swing. Where the min brighness is may not be the same location as it might be dim for over 1/2 the trim pot travel.
