Hey all
I've never seen one so there has got to be a reason why, and there has to be someone out there that has tried. The madmax's are my favorite converter boards. i'd like to make a madmax light engine but if someone could tell me why not to do this i'd appreciate it.

I think Jets22 has done one or two of them.

I can't think of any reason not to build a MM light engine. I, personally, love that little converter.

I just think that there is a better choice in the NexGen. The NexGen offers full current regulation and when the battery can't supply the current for full regulation, the converter drops into safe mode which makes the NexGen act like a MadMax. You kind of get the best of both worlds with the NexGen. Since the NexGen has a safe mode, it also generates far less heat than the previous generation of BadBoys. In fact, the NexGen generates about the same amount of heat as the MadMax, which is almost none.

If the $10 or so difference in price between the MadMax and NexGen is enough to make you go for the MadMax, then go for it. The MadMax is a very nice converter.

thanks guys. I'll go for the nexgen. it's just for some reason the madmax+ is my favorite converter. When i'm using li-ion recharables i really feel like the madmax shines (no pun intended)
