Hello. I`m going to build 1D Mag. Can anyone give me a hand? I need information of cutting down mag tube. Dimensions, etc. Also I`m looking for information how to put switch to tailcap. Photos will help a lot.
Thanks for any help, Mike

I was thinking about this recently too and would love to see more how-to info. You could probably cut the body down with a large pipe cutter like these, but I don't know anything about rethreading the body to reattach the tailcap (or the head, depending on which end of the body you discard).

I think all must be done on latche.
I would buy cutdown mag, but delivery to Europe, money transfer cost is much higher than mag tube. A fiend of mine got equipment and expirience, but I need some details to not destroy my precious mag :)
Anyone can give a hand for freshman?
I need to cut down both sides. Also information about tailcap modyfiying to put switch into it will be usefull.

If you friend is experienced just give him a light and he can take all the measurements and cut it to the length you need.

With how much Maglites cost in Europe, it would probably be cheaper to buy one from Mac and have him for the work for you and ship it. He does premium work. Groovy heads and bodies, cut-downs, tailcaps, etc... Whaddya think Mac?
