Mag AA LED Multi-mode: is the low PWM or not

Does anyone know if the low mode of the Mag AA Multi-mode uses PWM?

I've never been a big fan of PWM, although I'm really not sure why. IIRC, Peter G said PWM was not efficient.

Or at least High isn't PWM while it's still running on full batteries. When the batteries get low, it automatically starts dimming with PWM. I guess maybe it's more efficient to switch to PWM on low batteries instead of just trying to run it on low voltage? :thinking:
