Excellent find David /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Unfortunately many of us will only use a select few components from the kits!!

Pellidon,

That's a good site. . . . and they have Wilkey's spanner there for $6.95.

Sweet!

I tried taking the locking collar out of my C torches and I just can't get them to budge. But, now that I know what it looks like, I think I'm going to try and gerry-rig one out of spare junk I've got /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Wilkey,

I'm in the process of organizing my little flashlight workshop and categorizing odds and ends. Pray thee sir, what is the distinction between spare junk and essential junk? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Paul

Hahaha,

Ok, all junk is spare junk until it's been thrown away. Then it becomes essential junk.

Do you buy that? No? I don't blame you /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks for the link Pellidon. I was going to order the whole kit just to get the spanner. I have an old 2C that uses the collar instead of the new set-screw.

You actually got something from them? I ordered some reflectors and parts over 40 days ago from them and haven't gotten a thing. All inquires as to order status go unanswered. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I'm getting ready to put the big thumb on them later today, since it appears they've just taken my money and run.

I would NOT recommend ordering anything from Orderoutdoors.com !

I was going to order some parts too but I guess I'll hold off until lambda's case get resolved. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/popcorn.gif

I have ordered parts twice from them. First time was kind of slow (2 weeks) with no rapid response to emails. USPS left box on porch and neighbor's dog carried it off. Order Outdoors finally informed me (on telephone) that it had shipped and should be there. Offered to reship if I did not find package which I did find. Second order was a week plus out but no major troubles.

I got the impression that they are more of a brick and mortar oriented store and the e-store is not their main focus. They are also old school in mail order with no customer feedback like shipping confirmation emails, backorder status and other things we have becomed used to getting. You send your money and they ship-eventually.

Those guys plus another are listed as official parts suppliers on Mag's website.

I've had the same issue with them. Parts on order for a very long time (over 60 days) with no feedback......:(

I think it might be worthwhile to contact the other "authorized" dealers with the part numbers and see if they can order the. Maybe Flashlight King. I've got a purple 2D on order with them and it should be in the end of this week so we'll see how they stack up.

Wilkey

Yes, I've already ordered the parts from www.flashlights-store.com and they shipped them the next day; just like a real business.

Now, the only remaining task is to make Orderoutdoors.com give me my money back. I paid them with PayPal, and since it's been more than 30 days, PayPal will only list it in their profile as a complaint.

However, the Attorney General's office doesn't have a 30 day time limit for interstate fraud, so that's my next stop...

Jeez Kevin,

Good luck on getting things straightened out. Perhaps an email to Mag with a complaint about one of their "authorized" dealers might wake them up a bit.

Wilkey

Hey, I got a refund!

With in 30 minutes of filing the PayPal complaint I got an email and refund from them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sorry for driving this thread off topic, but I didn't want anyone to share my bad experience since some where discussing ordering from them. Ok, enough said.

Back to the subject of this thread, I should shortly have some Maglite reflectors finished. What I originally ordered these for was so I could Krylon sputter them for some members that wanted them.

So, is there any more interest in plain or sputtered reflectors pre-modded for use in C/D cell Maglites?

I, for one, appreciate the warning.

I have a Megaclops that I guess you made before the the sputtering of reflectors.
I am interested in one. PM me.

i hope you didnt order any 2aa reflectors.
i have 2 bagfulls here.make offer or some kind of swap if you need them
