Mag Reflector?

I got a mag reflector about a month ago and tried cleaning it today. All I did was soaked it in water. This is what happened.

What should I do?

Can't see your pic. But the main thing is to realize you can't really clean reflectors. So try not to get them dirty.

I tried in Firefox and wouldn't show up. However IE7 works fine.

Bummer about the reflector. I thought it was a stock Mag reflector. I guess you live and learn. Good thing it wasn't too expensive a lesson.

The Reflector still has the texture, is there any way to add a shiny layer to it?

A new reflector is $25. There is no way to refinish the reflector cheaply.....sorry.

okay here:

it's so wierd that firefox won't open this image. re-hosted for you. It looks like you made it into a Medium orage peel! should smooth out the beam. Oh, nevermind. it's all peeled. and gross.

Thanks for hosting the image. It started as a Medium Stiple reflector. It dosn't affect the beam much. It just looks funky. I found this stuff. http://www.krylon.com/main/product_template.cfm?levelid=5&sub_levelid=8&productid=1764&content=product_details. It is a mirror like paint. I'm not sure if it would work and I not sure if I am going to risk trying. The reflector is still very usable, like I said it dosn't affect the beam, it just worries me.

So your going to spend $6 on a can of spray paint that will most likely ruin the $15 reflector

No use in putting anymore time into this one.....either use it, or pick up a new one. If your using this in a hotwire then the paint will burn.

Like I said before just chaulk this one up to a lesson learned.

Heck, I burnt up 2 Seoul LEDs last weekend because I failed to isolate the slug properly. That's $25 up in smoke! You can bet your *** that it won't happen again .
