I was in Academy Sporting Goods this morning and saw they had a Magellan LED flashlight for half price! It's the 2C, 1 watt with what looks like a CREE chip. It is a very heavy, well made unit with a nice lathe turned bronze anodized finish and rubber barrel grip. The forward clicky is smooth and has 2 settings standard and bright. You can actually see the difference in the two. It has good threads, tight O rings and a wrist lanyard. I like the feel of it and the white light beam throw is decent with no artifacts. I think this will make a very good all round light as it appears like it could take some bumps and bruises. It normally retails for $28.95.

That looks pretty nice! Good lights that use C cells are hard to find, and I would have picked up a few of these for only $15.00 a pop! Too bad there are none of those stores around here. I am actually looking at a Dewalt light that used 3 C cells that Sears is selling for 65.00 or so. Good deal on this one!

Yeah looks like a great light, and will probably give you some serious runtime at only 1watt.

I bought the last one they had. :twothumbs I guess they were closing out the Magellan line. :awman:

I tried to find a Magellan website and could not turn up anything. Perhaps it was a generic that was made for Academy under the name Magellan. I did notice today they had Magellan watches for sale at Academy. Who knows?
