What year did Maglite start putting the cat logo on there flashlights

My Mini Maglite doesn't have the cat logo, and I wanted to know the general year it was made. I didn't buy my Mini Maglite, I actually found it under the kitchen sink when I was living in my old apartment 6 years ago...

Can't remember off the top of my head... maybe head over to the Flashlight Collecting section and post in the MiniMag collectors thread. A lot of info in there! Be careful though, you might find yourself desiring old, rare, and unusual Maglites!
