Ok so thanks to my London mate (I shall leave you somewhat anonymous) for getting me three magpul iphone cases. He gave me three, FDE, OD green and black.

I was so excited that I posted them up on a gun forum that had a thread about the iphone field case.

here is the post I made.

I just got all three today in the mail. When I was in London, back in July, I met up with some flashlight collectors. One in particular was a die hard surefire collector like me. After talking he mentioned that he will be getting his hands on a few Magpul iPhone cases.

Well my mate in London said that if I wanted one I could have one. So kachow, I finally got one. and not only did he send me one, he sent all three colors to me for free!!! Oh and it fits my 2G iphone beautifully. my iphone is now tacticool.

well someone chimes in and says "Those are fake, if you want the real thing email me, your friend is selling fake magpul products, Only Edgar Brothers are licensed to sell magpul"

His screen name is NickB.

after researching, NickB is Nick Booras of MAGPUL!!!!

Ok so if he says they are fake then I guess they are. No worries since my mate gave them to me, I didnt lose anything.

So I email NickB and have a nice chat about Magpul.

What arrives today in my new apt in NY?

THREE NEW MAGPUL IPHONE CASES!!!!!!!!!!! Direct from magpul.

I got FDE, foliage green and black. OD Green was on backorder. but quite possibly they may have sent me all 4 if it was in stock.

FOR FREE!!!!

I need to ship out one of the fake ones so the R&D guys can have a laugh (according to NickB)

YAY Magpul. and Yay for free stuff. Sorry I dont have pics at the moment as I am in Pittsburgh waiting for the movers tmw. My fiancee recieved the package in NY.

will update when I get my hands on them.

cool!

I would love to see a comparison of the fake and real!

that is exactly what I plan to do. My fiancee did say that the magpul ones are much better built. I dont have the original one that was released back at shotshow so I dont know how different they are.

But from her description, the knock off (KO) are real rubbery. these are stiffer but seem to utilize varying type of rubberized polymer to flex.

There is a space for a sim card removal tool on the inside of the sleeve.

My iphone cases have the word MAGPUL in raised lettering. the real ones are engraved into the case.

also the magpul logo is bigger on the real one.

sounds like the fakes factory just opted to use cheap injection molding on everything! :thumbsdow anyways! awesome CS from magpul :)

Here is a pic of the three cases I got from magpul. They sure are pretty.:p

Here it is with my 2G iphone. not a perfect fit but it works.

Ok here are the comparison pics of my KO cases. what a drastic difference. Only thing I cant compare is OD green. I have OD green KO and a foliage green original.

Here are all 6 iphone cases. KO on top, real on bottom

I think the pictures will speak for themselves. However I will add my observations. clearly the color is off. The shape of the case is totally different. The Magpul logo is much larger on the original. As I said before, the MAGPUL word is raised on my KO where instead it is a negative cavity on the real one

The bottom is pretty different as well. as we have heard from reviews, the field case has the cutouts left intact, for those who want to keep their iphone covered from the elements. notice the two holes for the mic and speaker.

Here is the top of the cases. Just like the bottom, it is different

The side volume buttons and mute slider hole is drastically different.

On the inside of the case, there is storage for the sim card removal tool. not so with the KO.

It is hard to discern from the pictures but perhaps this one will help show you the material differences. The real case is rigid with a hint of flexibility to get the phone inside the case. The KO case is like any cheap rubber iphone case. it can fold in half.

I love the quality of the Magpul field case. However I do like the KO only because it fits my 2G phone better. That is the only thing I like about it. It is too soft and the rubber is too tacky so it pulls my pocket out when i take the phone out. Oh and the fact that it is trademark infringement.

Those cases are almost enough to make me buy an iPhone.. And believe me it would take a lot.:nana:

Unfortunately there's way too many Android phones out there to expect Magpul to branch out that much. This is just a 'fun' side project product from them I've gathered.

Are these available online anywhere?
Really want to grab one for my 3Gs
