I have a couple of questions related to the Maha C204F AA charger.

First, might it be possible to charge D batteries if I made an adapter for them?

Second, I'm looking at it here for $31.97. Is there anywhere cheaper? Anywhere I can buy it without batteries? (I already have a bunch) Or...is there anything better for the price?

We get an even $20 for it. I modded an old Millenium charger years ago in a similar fashion and it worked very well. Not to screw anyone out of a sale, but that Energizer $20 four slot one at Wal-Mart is the best thing going IMHO.

Does anybody think I will damage D batteries or the charger if I try to recharge them? It would work with an 8000mah AA battery if it's invented in the future wouldn't it? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I did try this with the 401 and it goes green right away, you would think the opposite. I don't know what it would do with the 204. I think even if it did charge you would run in to timeout issues with the charger? I don't think it would hurt the batteries or the charger since the charger is limited by the AC supply. Maybe if you were feeding it 12v off a battery bank like I do it might over heat it?

Let us know what happens.

Oh isn't the 204 really a dual 3v charger? So you would have to use 2 D cells in series per side, or I suppose just match the D cell where the AA cell would have been, probably the way to go.
