I've been trying to find out here why there isn't a battery charger similar to the MH-C9000 or the BC-900 that can test mAh through a discharge or test cycle... am I missing something, or is this sort of technology not possible?

I'm thinking your average R123/RCR2, and then 17670/18650's... all 3.6 volt.

Thoughts? And my apologies for any battery charging newbiness showing through...

Duratrax ICE will do it... or at least it will do a discharge test, and I'm 98% sure it will cycle as well... Find them at hobby retailers... You'll need a 12 volt power source for it...

Thanks for the link...

This is strange - there's no turnkey solution that isn't as large and requires an external power source?

Li-ion do not need to be cycled.Packs do need balancing from time to time, but other than that charging is very simple cc/cv to 4.2 v . My triton will do a discharge and report capacity but won't cycle. maybe a safety issue. imvho

Thanks Christoph - like I said above, my main interest is in accurately reporting the mAh capacity.
The triton looks like what I'm looking for... I think!
