Main Light Question

After much help from the people here ive decided to go with the L4 for edc. i need one more light. a very bright light that i can use for outdoor use and/or tactical use possibly with a gun or possibly for searching. I cant decide M3T, M4 or M6. which should i pick?

Re: Main Light Question

I have a M4, good light, but eats batteries, even with the low-power bulb. No experience with the M3T or M6...

I do like the Pila GL4. More light than a M4, with rechargeable capabilities (if needed).

Re: Main Light Question

I have the M4 and M6, but not the M3T.

Mainly depends on your desired level of brightness, and also on how much you're willing to carry. The "light" weight of the M3T might make it better to be used in conjunction with a handgun (a la Rogers/SureFire grip), but someone else will on CPF will be able to better answer that part of your question.

For my M4, I have both the LOLA and HOLA lamp assemblies, and, in addition, managed to get two N62 500 lumen lamp assemblies! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif The N62s enables my M4 to be pretty much as bright as my M6 in a lighter package, albeit at the cost of runtime. Of course, the M6 is shorter and better balanced (not as head heavy).

The cool thing is that among these three lights, you can interchange the head, and tails for the M3 and M4. So, for example, if you get an M4, and then an L6, you can, with the correct lamp assembly, create an M3T (L6 body + M4 head). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You can find some beamshots and pictures of the M4 and M6 on Sean's page.

Re: Main Light Question

I have all three - you may as well get the M6 unless you plan to carry the light around with you a lot (in which the M3T is a better choice) in my opinion.
I have one of my M6's in a BlackHawk M6 Pouch in my rucksack I take to work everyday. In the winter I'd usually have an M3T in my cold weather jacket.
