Malkoff 2-3 d drop in

I have a brand new 3 D cell maglight (with "D" in s/n) and when I've assembled the thing, I have a very bright light, but a big dark spot right in the middle of the beam! The focus does not adjust it either!

Did I get a dud or is the flashlight bad? My old 3 D cell mag does the same thing.

Do you have the reflector cutted down? It needs with the drop-in for correct beam.

Yes I got one of Malkoffs pre-cut ones. I figured out what was wrong; the focusing head has to be un-screwed out quite a bit to get the height between the reflector and led right. I didn't have it anywhere's near where it needed to be. The thing works awesome now!
