So I will soon be assembling a trout light cnc housing. It has 6 cree XP-E. I have two different batteries, a 2 18650 cell lion and a 4 18650 cell lion. This presents a small problem but I may have found a work around. With the 2 cell I will wire 3S2P and turn the current all the way to 1200ma for 600ma per led. With the 4 cell I will need to wire 6S and turn the current down to 700ma. I wont need to switch batteries very often and probably not even at all out on the trail.
I am planning on wiring up a 2 pole toggle switch to switch the wiring. The switch will be inside the cavity for the driver to prevent any accidental operation and also keep it water proof and simple.
If I disconnect the battery, wait a couple min, flip the switch and then reconnect the apropriate battery will there be any risk of frying the LEDS. Obviously the current level will need reporgraming after the switch.
Cheers
Jay
