This is the part about the Maxablaster....

"The invention of the Maxablaster is as close as humans have come to inventing a lightsaber. We're not kidding. A Dutch optics engineer has invented a 38-million-candlepower flashlight with the power to burn skin. It's not a solid beam (so we can't hail the Star Wars gods as having finally arrived), but it'll definitely do some damage. The commercial flashlight shell was gutted and a mercury arc bulb installed, which produces a brighter, more focused beam. Powered by 54 batteries, the Maxablaster's light beam can light up a cloud four miles high. An abundance of ultraviolet light gave the creator a sunburn in early testing. There are no plans to mass-produce it, which is probably a good thing."

PopSci had RA's Maxablaster in their DIY section a few months ago, either way, a great way to enlighten the community.

As Gunner12 says, the other thread was about a similar piece in Popular Science, so this one is not the same and I think it has a right to continue.

It's a great story, too!
