M1 gives you two separate decent size compartments, the bungee cord tightener and a belt loop. Not that you are going to use the belt loop based on another thread. It's also going to stick out a little more from where it is worn.

4x6 is just PAL/MOLLE connection(no belt loop), one main compartment where stuff might roll around if it's not full, with the smaller vertical profile to jab you in the ribs on your belt. It's also not as deep to dig for stuff at the bottom. It really strikes me more as designed for wear on a tactical vest.

You might want to evaluate the best for your needs based on which best fits the stuff you plan to carry, and which fits best in the place you plan to carry/wear it.

I will not use the belt loop but instead use a plastic clip that is feed through the PAL/MOLLE webbing and then I will clip it to my belt.

Is the M1 too big? Does it stick out too much?
