Hi everyone, new guy here, was looking for the best HID forum, and it looks like I've found it. Well here's my problem. Last year I bought McCulloch HIDs (6000k) for my 95 Maxima. I got them and they have worked fine until last month. One side didn't work, after checking everything, I concluded that the ballast is bad. I opened it up and there was this battery acid like substance inside the ballast, while the other side did not have it at all. I also have a pair of Porsche Litronic HIDs here complete with ballast, starter, and bulb, but I dont want to use them because they are extremely bright, and are dangerous for traffic because my car does not come with projectors. I was thinking one day, what if I used the ballast and starter form the porsche for my McCullochs, so I tried it and it actually worked, for 10 seconds that is, then the bulb would start to flicker every 5 seconds, until it totally turned off, and you here a clicking sound from the ballast. Upon further observation, I noticed that the McCulloch system has one mroe wire going from the ballast to the starter, where the Porsche Litronic ones only have two. Can anyone help me out here? I have one fully functional side of McCulloch HIDs, and the other side has a bad ballast, and I have a set of Porsche Bosch Litronic HIDS, what can I do with all this? Thanks for your help in advance and sorry for the long post.

Warranty is not an option anymore. I bought them on a groupdeal on maxima.org for $322 shipped. Supposedly they were not an authorized dealer and I was sold a rejected RMA, hence the cheap price. I already contacted McCulloch directly when this first happened, thats how I found all this info out. My only hope now is to see what I can do wih both sets of kits, or maybe buy a new ballast.
